Dave Brown was the best.

You couldn't ask for a better or more entertaining goon.

So we've only missed one regular season game so far, but doesn't it feel much more than that? Still can't see the light at the end of the tunnel...

Chances Stolarz gets a start tonight with two older goalies ahead of him?

Not great, unfortunately. I don't think he'll seriously challenge to start many games this season. If he pulls it off as a "true" freshman, that will be awesome. But I think Faulkner (the senior) has the starting job at the beginning, and Ed Belfour's kid, Dayn (a junior) would currently be the number two.

For something a little different, NHLN is showing game 5 from the '81 Final now (Isles/North Stars)...Nystrom, Goring, Trottier, Billy Smith, Bobby Smith, Ciccarelli...and Dorny doing color.

That's because we all know that even if they settle today there won't be hockey until November and every day that passes the further out the start gets. I'm running on the assumption there won't be NHL hockey this season.

Flyskippy did send me the Vorhees Squirt schedule so I can add that to my games to see list.

So in Vancouver they're scalping tickets to Kevin Bieksa's charity hockey game.

Just wow... it's a charity game yo!

I am also assuming no season, that way I can only be happily surprised rather than woefully disappointed.

I haven't had much of a chance to catch any of these overseas games yet, but I'll definitely be watching the Eisbären game today. I didn't see a link for the game Stolarz may be playing in. Any idea if that's available somewhere?

Edit: I see now its on NBCSN

My wife is of the same mind. She said if that happens, she and her mom will gladly give up their season tickets and buy playoff tickets instead from now on. No sense in making the financial commitment when the thing invested in doesn't give a rat's hinder about you.

Thank you and God bless.

I feel better about Lavi and the team coming out of this lockout than I did about Hitch and the team coming out of 2004-05. Probably because it is still just October...

EDIT: "Until we're tackling the major issues, I'm not sure what the urgency is to meet on a 24/7 basis," Daly told reporters.

Uh, the fornicating season, you sack of nightsoil!

Forgot to mench: prepare yourself as you did during the Flyers' 2006-07 season. M4 is just 1 of 2 second-year Squirts on the team. The other two Squirts who are of second-year age just started playing this year.

Valeri Vasiliev is playing for the Waterloo Blackhawks, he left the MHL. He should be in the line-up tonight versus the Green Bay Gamblers.

That's okay. After playing every position and 30 minutes a game last season Jason is one of just 6 first year players on his team so he doesn't get a ton of minutes. I've been on both sides of the lopsided teams at this point. We're coming to watch him play and see you guys. We want his tema to win but that's not the reason we're trekking to NJ.

I'm in for any of the nonmorning games. And if Bristol is safe to walk, I'll see you a bit after game time tomorrow.

No, he's still in Russia. He has played for Spartak this week after opting not to come to North America.

Per Waterloo coach O'Handley, "There was a chance —a small chance -- that we would get him. Now we will not."

I don't know I'd want to walk through Bristol.
